About the Journal
LIFT: Journal of Literature and Performing Arts is an open access journal published in open access format under the Creative Commons License by the Department of Literature, Linguistics, Foreign Languages and Film Studies (Moi University), for maximum dissemination and use. It welcomes only original research that has not been submitted to any other journal. Contributions must be in English (or translated into English by the author before submission), and articles are subjected to a review process where the author and the reviewers remain anonymous, and only in special circumstances is the doctrine of anonymity not invoked.
LIFT is run by an editorial board of experts in Literature, Linguistics, Performing Arts and Film, and accepts articles in these broad fields of Literature and the performed arts. Abstracts should be between 200 – 400 words and complete articles be between 6,000 – 9,000 words, though leeway can be given where necessity is proven. Typeface accepted is Times new Roman 10pt. with 1.15 spacing between lines, and citations must be either APA or MLA 8th edition citation style.
LIFT may have special issue editions from time to time, or issue theme specific CFPs when necessity arises. Authors whose papers have been accepted by the editorial board may be charged a small fee to supplement the cost of production. Articles are published online, but hard copies are available upon request at a small fee. The opinions of contributors as expressed in LIFT do not necessarily represent the views of the advisory council, consulting editors or editors. The copyright of the published material, however, rests with LIFT.
